RC3 is live

Yo!

RC3 is up. We think the code is final.... please help us test! We still have some more polish to put on the docs, but we're are definitely in the final phase... so every little suggestion and fix you guys find and suggest will be a big help.

Sorry for the short note... got lots and lots to do today!

Are there any more docs forth coming? Something like a technical overview and a class hierarchy?

Anywhere to view a changelog at all? I've been hoping for some 3d shape animation support within the game builder...unless I haven't already looked hard enough?

Yippee, more bugs to hunt and destroy! Only kidding, installing in (seperate folder) 3, 2, 1......

Congratulations on such wonderful progress with TGB.

Now that RC3 has been released for Windows, I'll stop whining about no RC2 for Mac. Ummm... Any notion on when RC3 for Mac might be coming out? ;)

Wow, if RC3 is truly "final" that means all the bugs in the bug forum are fixed now. Rock on!

Am I mistaken, or has gravdemo been taken out?

It seems WhackAMole not work?

The whack-a-mole example wasn't working for me either, and it appears the gravdemo is gone (not sure why).

Also where is the pool/billiards example/tutorial that I've heard so much about? Couldn't find it on TDN either.

Whack-a-mole, i'll whack-a-something in a minute! There's next to nothing working for me :S www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=45928

EDIT: one thing i've discovered in my case, if you run whack a mole the first time, it doesn't work properly, but if you run it a second time, all is normal, like i said Welcome to the Torqlight zone (yes, i know its a bad one)

I know this is a very simple one in the grand scheme of things, but I'd like to see a "Do you want to quit?" prompt when I accidentally click the X instead of the minimize button. I'm a big fan of the save often mantra, but once in a while things happen.

Not to be a pain, but when is the mac installer getting releaesd?
I just checked and were still at rc1, I can download the windows rc3, but what about us mac people?
I could run the win exe in an emulator/bootcamp but will we get a preview too or do we have to wait for final?

Thanks in advance.

I'm with Mark.

In less than a month there were 4 new releases ( Beta4, RC1, RC2 & RC3 ). Some of them weren't stable, contained major problems or included more bugs where there weren't.

My last stable version is still Beta 2. I had to make several changes to get Beta 4 partially working. What will happen when I try it with the mac version of RCx ?

I acknowledge GG's effort on pushing TGB further, but I sense a BIG QA problem. Instead of working against the clock, why don't you guys publish a STABLE release and work on the KNOWN bugs with us. I still have open bugs from Beta 2.

Personally RC3 is working quite well for me. I'm not saying it's perfect, but at some point you know they are going to have to release final. Suggestions for helping QA:

1. Re-post or bump up your posts in the Bug Reports forum, for each new release the bug is still present. Unfortunately some stuff gets lost in the long threads and many topics. Eventually maybe we will get Mantis access but for now it's the Forums and you gotta make the best of it.

2. Post a recipe how to replicate the bug in the latest version of TGB. A bug that can be replicated is much more likely to get fixed.

Thank you to Paul Scott (and the rest of the GG team) for getting the Mac version of RC3 out.

I've only been able to give it a preliminary testing, so far; but the majority of the bugs that were plaguing me in Beta 4 and RC1 seem to be gone.

Excellent work!!!

Kudos to Paul! I know he must have worked his ass off to get the Mac version ready while deflecting the impatience of us end-user types. The effort is appreciated! :)

I'd also like to give out a big congratulatory pat on the back to the Mac team for getting the RC3 version out.

Good going there! It looks like pretty soon I'll have to stop lurking on these forums and actually... well, do some darn work on my game. Just as soon as I hit Exalted with Alterac Valley...
