I went to see Lord of the Rings awhile back and heard some guys complaining about how they ripped off D&D and that orcs didn't do this or that - blah blah.
Umm, what came first here J.R.R Tolkien books or D&D.
I know, but I thought I'd just piss a little 100 proof on the fire and see what happens:)

I was thinking that when I saw the word "Drow". Weren't the Drow Elves actually part of the Tolkien universe?

I was really excited until I read:

"As a result the original plans for a persistent online strategy game have sadly been ditched in favour of something more like a traditional massively multiplayer role-playing game. Instead of online Warhammer Fantasy Battle, we're effectively getting online Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play."

Sigh... :(

To answer your question Saynercyd....

Tolkien was there first.

The origional D&D races were "borrowed" from the Hobbit and LoTR. TSR got sued and had to remove Hobbits... so they became.......... Halflings.
