RPG starter kit?

Any in the works? I know that there's that MMORPG kit, but i was sort of looking for an official one. I'd buy it straight away.

Well, I'm writing a TGB tutorial for a specific kind of RPG (hopefully done in August, life willing) and there are a lot of resources, but the problem with a "starter kit" for RPG's is that there is a huge discrepency between control and systems and interpretations of "necessary elements" based on gameplay, and the more generic one makes it the more people complain because it doesn't fit their idea of what a RPG is. There have been several discussions about it in the past, and there was one in the works but I don't know how it has fared recently.

It reminds me in many ways of the discrepencies between people who see "turn-based networking" and compare it to "real-time networking" without understanding networking and confuse turn-based games with real-time gaming when looking at TGB. For some projects, yes, the lite version is not sufficient. But for many...a *lot*...it is sufficient but people get caught up in an interpretation of practice rather than an actual implementation in the context of what they are working with.

RPG's are similar, which I why I chose to approach only a specific style and presentation and not create something "general" and potentially unmanagable as people begin to request/complain about pet features such as no-load times in huge environments, layered map swapping in an easy world-editor interface, conversation nodes, lip sync'ed portraits/models, etc.

Why does it have to be official? The MMO kit is solid enough...

Well, i'm working on a single player, console style RPG. While there is no official kit, feel free to ask me about how i've implemented things.

Just make the changes to the MMO kit.
