Upgrade to commercial license?

Anyone of you is upgrading to commercial license before June 7th? and Why?

I develop on a Mac. We didn't get a Beta 3 at all; and Beta 4 has some significant bugs in it. From the Mac point of view, TGB is nowhere close to being RC. To make such long-term decisions so soon requires a large leap of faith.
And then there is the 4-second rule; with no official response to the click-through or animation questions... That one annoyance may be a huge factor in people deciding whether or not to go from demo to license in my games.
I don't know what to do; and I have only a few days to decide (or take a huge financial hit in the future).
I think that GarageGames is rushing things a bit.

I certainly don't begrudge GarageGames for wanting to make money, but the June 6th deadline is quite a shock.I develop on a Mac. to everyone who is worrying about the "4-second" rule... before you get too worked up drop Benjamin Bradley an e-mail asking such "click-through" or "animation" questions. Formerly being a very active Torque user highly dependent on the forums I can relate... though really, when it comes to something that concerns you this much, it's so much better to ask than wait for a forums response. In fact, I'd say an personal e-mail response is more 'official' than a post on the forums. Look up the contacts page and drop an e-mail to Benjamin Bradley with any questions, you all s hould know you're more than welcome to ask any of usk questions through e-mail at any time :)

Maybe an email to one of the GG bods would get a response a little quicker than waiting for them to post on the forums?

I just upgraded Commercial. The 4 second splash screen was admittedly a factor, but mainly I look at as an investment to support garagegames, get the early adopter pricing, and insurance for if/when I ever need get a commercial license.

It's just that they are as busy as I am, and something like this (and all related questions) isn't decided immediately by one person.
I'll re-ping regarding a full out splashscreen requirements response, but the 4 second rule was added to the EULA specifically due to the exact question being asked many times in the past...instead of posting the answer, it was put in the EULA instead. I'll work on that communication channel to you guys in the future to make it not seem so "sneaky", but that wasn't the intent at all.

Guys, we do monitor the forums, and when this question was first asked, I related it to the appropriate personnel. It's just that they are as busy as I am, and something like this (and all related questions) isn't decided immediately by one person.

Yes, you can make the logo screen clickable. You can't modify the logo / splash screen in any way.
Thanks to all who offered support. In the future, there is no need to get too worked up about stuff like this... just ask friendly questions and we'll do our best to reply. It's not like this thread wasn't getting attention, Jeff T himself posted several times. And now here is the official reply on the logo screen thing, so you're good to go.
Don, if you had some problems with the Mac build, please post them in the Bug Reports forum. Later today we are launching an updated version of TGB, so it'd be best if you could test against this new version and let us know in the bugs forum if there are still any problems with the OS X build. That'd be helpful, as we'd love to get them all taken care of before release. Thanks!

Seriously though, I'm sure everyone does appreciate that you can't just sit and watch the forums answering our questions as soon as we post them. I'm lucky to be in a position where the upgrade fee isn't such a big deal.
But I wonder if it's worth clarifying that in the EULA. Maybe it's worth developing an EULA FAQ that states more clearly what can and can't be done.
Edit - Doh! The forums ate my post because I included a pound sign...

Stephen and Josh, thanks for the reply. Can I have a refund on my commercial license then? ;)Seriously though, I'm sure everyone does appreciate that you can't just sit and watch the forums answering our questions as soon as we post them. We will be refining the EULA before the launch on June 7th, yeah. Good ideas Philip, we'll do as much of that as possible before the release.

I wouldn't have a problem to mention it all over as well (like a logo banner on the download page, mention in credit etc) but I agree that a fixed time static logo is about the worst possible ... If the users must see it that long please make it an animation or something ...
