How good actually is this engine?

Now i stumbled across this site about 15 minutes ago and can't believe my luck. This looks like THE perfect engine for me.
Now i would just like to know if this engine is as good as it seems? Now i am planning on mainly creating an RTS game with the RTS starter kit. Now before i splash out $150. I want to know what i'm getting myself into.
My questions:
1. What kind of FPS do you get in an RTS using shaders?
2. What is the maximum poly count for a trooper?(to get good fps)
3. What is the maximum poly count for a building?(to get good fps)
4. What "Packs" are planned for The Torque engine?
5. With the FPS pack, can it handle large outdoor maps well? Like Battlefield 2.
6. Can i make and RPG on the scale of Morrowind with the Torque engine?
Hope i'm not being annoying :D

I hear TGB, the 2D version of TGE is easier to use and has great documentation though. You may want to start off small with a 2D game anyway. I don't know personally though. I'm not a programmer, nor have I ever used either engine because I'm a game music composer. This is just what I've heard from years of hanging out with this community.
But if your really good, you can do some great things with TGE. I've been blown away a few times over the years.

Just a word of caution though Joe. I've only scanned the other posts in this thread so I don't know if anybody has told you but there are a lot of people who have bought TGE and have had it for years and still can't do anything with it. There is a steep learning curve, not so great documentation, and I doubt you'll be able to make a game in just a few months with it if your new to it.I hear TGB, the 2D version of TGE is easier to use and has great documentation though. Quote:"Do what you like as long as you credit us and don't exceed 250,000."That's a bit misleading since the spirit of the indie license has always been in creating games and not anything. Even when the license was a bit more expensive than it is today, the spirit of the indie license was about making games. But at one time Machinima was thought of as a splinter genre of gaming since it used game engines to create video art.

David B, not sure if that was aimed at me or at the thread in general, but if it was aimed at me I did indeed mean "in the gaming sense of things."

I thought you probably did in the context of reading it now, but I can see how it could be misconstrued a couple of months from now.

I don't know how all this contractor and other stuff came in. There are plenty of people looking for help on the teams page, does this mean anyone who offers their services has to purchase a full license? What about people who put resources up on the web site? They are in effect coding for everyone else out there, do they have to pay up as well?
Apart from being unmanagable I think this would completely break the entire spirit of what GG are trying to do. I can't believe that it's correct.
