Arrow keys not used?

Something that i have thought about after trying several of the game demos:
Why arent arrow keys able to use for moving forward, backwards and sideways? I can understand some developers think its enough with just using other keys, but why not be able to use arrows to?
1. Is it because its hard to implant?
2. They are used to use other buttons then arrow keys so dont think about it?
3. They just dont care?
Personally i prefer to use arrow keys to move. Some complain that they dont want to use them, because they are at wrong place on the keyboard. I still love my arrow keys. :) I just wish all games could have an option on how to controll simpel movement.
Personally i liked the demo of marbel blast (and some others), but i would never pay for them for 1 singel reason: Because i cant use arrow keys to move. Sounds stupid? Maybe so. But i am used to using arrows key on consoll games, and on my PC. I dont own 1 game that dont use arrow keys, while i own 500+ console/Pc games that do.
I dont think i am the only one feeling like this, or?

Not all the demos i have tryed have that option to rebind keys...
Not possible to make 2 keys do same command? That way ppl didnt have to rebind keys at all :)

It's definitely possible, but that doesn't mean that the developers wanted to do it. That was a choice on their part, not a limitation of the engine.

Most of the time it's because of hand ergonomics...a large majority of keyboards make the arrow keys accessable for the right hand much more efficiently than the left, and the right hand is normally used for mouse input.

Minions of Mirth built on TGE uses
default keys for movement and recieved
a very high rating for it overall game content
how you move is an issue of personal choice
but in any choice it should not impede doing something else
learning to drink my beer left handed for instance
while i move with the arrows keys ... bah! I would rather
die drinking with my beer in my right hand.

Righthanded ppl have their mouse on right side of keyboard, while some lefthanded ppl have their mouse on left side. If they have mouse on left side it would be more natural for them to use arrow keys for movement me think. (Not that i am lefhanded, i am just old and stubborn and like my movement keys to be like i am used to. Tjihi)
He he William.
