Google search broken?

Google search seems to be broken, at least with regards to forums.

It appears that no forum posts are stored in Google past number 38926. This is? Mid January maybe? Jan the 20th or there abouts I guess

This is the last thread stored? qt=38926
search.garagegames.com/search?q=qt%3D38926&restrict=forums&btnG=Google+Search&ie...

qt=38927 doesn't exist nor does any number post this
search.garagegames.com/search?q=qt%3D38927&restrict=forums&btnG=Google+Search&ie...

(below - some examples I was using initially... The stuff isn't in Google)

Search (returns no results)
search.garagegames.com/search?q=arm42.free.fr%2Ffiles%2Fmario.rar&btnG.x=5&btnG....

Forum post which contains the search phrase (this is a March 13-21 thread)
www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=41315

Search (last returned forum result is January the 16th this year)
search.garagegames.com/search?restrict=forums&ie=&q=class+superclass&site=Garage...

Here is at least one post that is should have returned (note a developer was the one that mentioned the "class" "superclass" search to get this recent post) - much later than the 16th Jan

A post on the 27th Feb
www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=40683

2 searchs, neither find it ("hence my question")
search.garagegames.com/search?restrict=forums&ie=&q=%22hence+my+question%22&site...

and (hence + question) - no quotes
search.garagegames.com/search?restrict=forums&ie=&q=hence+question&site=GarageGa...

Google doesn't automatically index pages--they can take 6 months to a year to be indexed. Also, Google only indexes pages it feels are "worthy". Every single post is most likely not worthy. lol Oh, and Google is not a fan of query strings (what you see after the ? in the URL).

Ryan, not sure if you're talking about the web search Google that uses the google engine, or the in-house google using/built hardware solutions that GG uses as the search engine.
Me would think you would be able to configure indexing, disable the "worthy" search results "feature", if it's even part of that product when you're running it as a dedicated intramural search solution.
Just curious

I am unsure as to who is doing the indexing, but regardless, if you search using the search boxes on this site, there are no forum messages since Jan 20 2006

I believe that this is a bug/broken recently since one of the devs mentioned in a recent post to find a article in the forums search for "class" and "superclass"... I found the post manually (search fails to find it) and when I mentioned this the developer mentioned this was strange since he was certain he used the exact same search to find the post

I certainly don't consider "normal" a site that's search is 4 months out of date

I'm talking about Google, not the in house solution. Consider my response meaningless. 8-)

The In-House solution is based on Google.

I just did a search for "Google" and this thread came up, dated May 13.

Just give it a week after page creation.

I'm unsure what the Google search box on the GG site uses. It is definitly Google powered in some way (has Google written all over it) and people have mentioned an in-house solution which seems to make sense

An update: - rather bizaare. All my examples above work now. However the articles between 44000 and 39000 are all still generally missing

There still appears to be a large gap of un-indexed data, but recently indexing has restarted.

yeah, this thread, and the examples it pointed to are now indexed. For example search for "qt=38927" and it will return (didn't yesterday)

However, search for "qt=38930" or "qt=38950" or *ANYTHING* up to about 44000 and none will return. If I link the actual searches here like I did yesterday, I bet tomorrow they will be indexed :)

The pages are 4 months out of date - or rather there is a 4 month gap.
