Lighting DTS Objects

by Col. for Creative Studies (#0001 · in Torque Game Engine · 05/10/2006 (5:45 pm) · 4 replies

Hey everyone,

Recently we've been trying to light our level, but it had been crashing when it tried to light the DTS objects. I know this because before creating a light I tell it not to work on DTS objects and everything works fine, but as soon as I create one that works with DTS objects Torque crashes. Anyone else have this problem?

We have DIF objects with DTS objects within them so we really need to get this working or else our level is going to look kinda crappy. Anyway, thanks in advance!

Any luck on that help? It's been a while since we've actually opened Torque since the semester has been out, but we're still in need of some type of solution. Anyone got an idea?

Try your DTS object, all by itself, in a fresh install of TORQUE.
Try adding more of them one at a time, till you cause it to crash again.
Each time you add something, run the Torque Demo.exe and see if it works.
Then you could better determine whats causing the crash.

It could be as simple as a texture not being in a folder.

You've had May,June, and July thats three months, and you havnt opened your torque?(WHY?)
You have to explain your problem in more detail. Is it your own model that causeing the
crash or any DTS at all? Are you useing the lighting kit?...etc

Again, try in a stock TGE, one model at a time. Thats your best soltuon.
Report back when you have more details.

You should post this in the TLK forums (I presume you have that if you're lighting DTSes?).
