Gettin the client/player name

Ok, I have a bunch of bots standing around in my level. I simply altered and edited the starter fps example and I need the bot's aim to be set on the player. This is simple if your game does not start as a server. But seeing as how the starter fps starts as a server that how mine starts.
My question is, where would you find and alter the code when the player (local client I guess) gets spawned so that I can name the player so that the bots can set their aim to him?
Or is there an easier way to do this?
