GUI Editing/ Disabling mission editor etc.

by Jim Klein · in Technical Issues · 05/06/2006 (5:28 am) · 9 replies

I'm trying to simply create a button that loads the flat.mission map. I click the guictrl button I believe then type in what map to load instead of myMission or whatever it is. It doesn't seem to work.

Also, does anyone know where the code is to disable hitting f11 and f10 to get into the editor? When I complete the game, I don't want anyone to be able to alter it ya know?

Thanks.

Creator/editor/editor.cs - f11
creator/ui/GuiEditorGui.gui - f10
creator/debugger/DebuggerGui.gui - f9

I love UNIX tools.

fgrep -ie f11 `find . -name "*.gui"`

Jim,

Without a purchasing TGE, the above is probally the best you can do.

Well I have the Torque Game Engine, I had to buy it for my game design class from our college book store. It cost $75, shouldn't that be the one with the indie game license? Obviously, we got a discount because we know someone but still?

I know of no book (school or otherwise) that gets you the indie license and access to the C++ source code. What book was it?

It sounds as if Jim is attending one of the schools that has used one of our Educational licensing agreements, but didn't get assigned a user login with permissions (not sure why). I'll have Davey Jackson take a look into your permissions issue Jim, if you could send him an email with your school information.

@Jim-

If you purchased through the bookstore they should have given you a log in ID and password you can use to access the forums and download a full source version of TGE. Looking at the profile you are posting with I see you do not have a registered copy under the above login. If you did not get a separate log in ID from the bookstore, or if you have additional questions about access please contact me directly at daveyjatgaragegames.com
