The future of the Game Builder?

Hi all,

I have been following both spaceshooter and platformer tutorials on TDN and I must say I am quite impressed with what can be accomplished. I am wondering about a couple of things though:

- Is the 2D TDN being updated often? I noticed there is still some documentation missing.
- Are there any updates planned to the Game Builder? Is there an 'official' release date for the final version?

I'm asking this because so far I love what I have seen, and I hope it gets supported and improved upon for a long time.

Thanks for any feedback!

1. TDN is being updated for TGB. There are bounties up for tutorials and documentation. MattL also has made a call for help on TDN since documentation is ramping up. Check the forum and blogs for more information.

2. There are definitely updates. One is planned here soon (within a week or two, I believe). There is no 'official' date currently for the final release.

Thanks David.

I might contribute to TDN in the near future. I just finished working on arrays for a card game and I noticed there is not much info available yet on the site.

Out of curiosity, is this forum the only place where we can talk about the Game Builder? Are there any other resources that you guys are using? You mentionned something about a blog...

There are the blogs (Select community on the menu and you'll see a section for blogs/.plans). You will also notice up in the corner of the community page that there is an IRC channel through MaxGaming.

I haven't seen the blogs/.plans section in the community menu, but I'll keep looking.
I appreciate the info.

If you click Community or What's new on the menu, you will see the blogs section in the upper left.
