Quick FAQ:
Question: So, how do I get my name up here?
Answer: Easy! If you found a path or a shortcut which leads to a very fast gold time, just post your path here! If you used someone else's pathway (which is here already) but have an addition to that level, than post here and we'll add it in the correct place. You'll be credits on that pathway as well as the original poster of that pathway.
Question: I beat the gold time for a certain level that was posted here, but I didn't use any new methods. Do I get on the list?
Answer: While you will not be able to get credit for the path, you do get credit for the fastest time since it'll be written in the MBG World Record Topic.
Question: Are all records here attainable?
Answer: Yes!
Question: I see that some of the records in the MBG World Record are only for two decimal places (hundredth of a second) and some are three decimal places (thousandth of a second). How come?
Answer: Several people didn't know that the game stores the times for 3 decimal places so they just put their times as 2 decimal places. We prefer to use 3. To find it, just go to Marble Blast/Data/Client and there you'll see the prefs.cs file. Open it with Notepad (or TextEdit) and look for that level (some levels do not have the same name as written in the files) and post in that topic the time.
Question: What is that "Squeezing between platforms" I heard about and how do I do that?
Answer: Let's say that if the marble is at the centre of the edge, really on the line, it is 50% on the platform and 50% exposed out of the platform. That's our Centre of the Edge.
So let's say this:
0-25% Exposed to the ground below (75-100% on the platform) - shoot backs to the platform or barely higher.
25-40% - Usually goes up but its hard to control where it goes. It would most likely go back to the lower platform.
40-47% - This is a huge area, I cannot break it more. This is the part that we need and the hardest to achieve. In this area, the marble will shoot more upwards and less to the sides. In Great Divide it's perfect for the trick since the marble goes JUST high enough to the next platform above. (There's a small note about Great Divide I wrote in its walkthrough).
47-50% - Also our least favourite part. In here, the marble really shoots upwards and less to the sides. Speeds varies. Although you can try it on Great Divide and probably is good, it can still shoot you to where you least want to. In Revisited/Skyscraper, this area will shoot you upwards, but out of bounds. In the 43-48% range it will shoot you where you need.
So, let's go and thanks for all those who made these records possible and achievable!
NOTE -
Michael McFadden uses - Fast Start (Jumping while pressing forward [or backwards, depends] in order to land when the Announcer says go and still holding the spacebar in order to make another jump. It help in order to start faster) and Semi-Fast Start which means the same as Fast Start but without that second jump.
Matan uses - Special Fast Start (Same as Fast Start, but is diagonally [W+A or W+D]).
Sceptus uses - Jump Start (same meaning as Michael's and Matan's starts)
World Records Walkthrough for Beginner Levels Part I
Beginner Levels
1: Learning to Roll - Credits to Sceptus.
Take a jump start and go around the first turn using diagonal movement constantly. Then cut the corner of the second turn by jumping straight into the finish.
2: Collect the Gems - Credits to Sceptus.
Start with a jump start and rotate the camera so that the marble will jump diagonally toward the edge of the turn. With the first jump, bounce off the edge of the turn and roll quickly towards the corner of the level, collecting three gems on the way. Then turn around towards the opposite corner, and roll down (jump once perhaps to gain speed), collecting two more gems. Then turn towards the finish and collect the last gems.
3: Jump Training - Credits to Michael McFadden.
Start with a Fast Start, rotate the camera, jump forward up the |>>>>| incline twice, and after the second jump you should have enough height to clear the left side of the platform and roll towards the goal.
4: Learn the Super Jump - Credits to Matan.
Start with a Special Fast Start and slow down as you get the super speed. As you get it, quickly activate it and make it to the finish.
5: Platform Training - Credits to Michael McFadden. Re-written by Matan.
1) When the clock starts, don't move.
2) At around 2.30-2.50, jump over to the platform, jump to the other side of the platform and jump once more to the finish.
6: Learn the Super Speed - Credits to Michael McFadden.
Start with a "Fast Start", then simply activate the Super Speed as soon as you get it. You will fly to the finish.
7: Elevator - Credits to Matan.
The only 2 things were that I did a special fast-start to the left and then jumped at ~2.8 seconds from the elevator and landed above the finish.
8: Air Movement - Credits to Michael McFadden.
Rotate the camera so it is facing sideways, and hold left (or right, whichever way is towards the edge). As soon as you get near the edge, come to an almost complete stop, and when you roll off the edge, hold the opposite direction you were going before.
9: Gyrocopter - Credits to Michael McFadden.
Start with a "Fast Start" and activate the Gyrocopter as soon as you get it. You will need to hold back slightly near the goal so you do not hit the sign above it. Alternatively, you could just jump to the goal by starting with a "Fast Start".
10: Time Trial - Credits to Sceptus.
Start with a jump start, and rotate the camera so that your marble will move straight down the path in a diagonal movement. Jump all the way down, collect the time travel, and get to the finish.
11: Super Bounce - Credits to Michael McFadden.
Rotate the camera slightly so that the goal is to the right of the screen. Do a "Fast Start" up and to the right (diagonally of course), then bounce once without jumping and hold jump again for a final jump. You will clear the gap nicely and roll to the goal.

Hey matan, for gyrocopter, Use a Special fast start, and when you get the gyrocopter, go off the edge. Just one moment after you ride off the edge, activate the gyrocopter, you should fly into the goal in record time. The sooner you activate the gyro, the faster time you get.

Well what do you know, it's the same pathway as mine, just as somehow you did it faster.

Note that this means it is a battle of who gets the first time travel the fastest.
05/25/2006 (9:32 pm)
Start this one with a Fast Start to the left and jump and jump one more time to land on the time travel. (Hard to explain now!) Now push W for .50 sec then W+A and you should land on the time travel. (Keep pressing the space bar)(really hard to explain now.) Land on the "finish run" (the straight-away before the finish) on the part that's slanted toward you and you should go in the air. Land on the left or right side (right is safer) and jump to the finish in record time.Note that this means it is a battle of who gets the first time travel the fastest.

I will assume that after you take each elevator, you rotate the camera to
face the center wall. Also, I will refer to each elevator as either the left
one, the right one, or the one on the far side (on the other side of the
center wall).
Okay. In this order. Left, right, left, far. But don't just get on. This is REALLY
hard to do. That's because you have to squeeze between platforms at about
33%-38%. You should end up on one of the corners by the finish so jump to
the finish (you can roll if you want).

Rotate the camera 45 degrees to the right and press W + D (or if you want W + A, just use 135 degrees). Use a very, very, very, very, very slightly delayed Special Semi-Fast Start so that you just miss the edge of the platform the start pad's on. This should save you roughly 0.1 seconds if you just used a perfect Special Fast Start. Then what I do (not necessarily what you might do) is go a little more to the side of the tube but not touching it. Then I press S so I back up a little bit. Then I go in between the corner of the last red thing-a-ma-bobber and finish in about 6.75-6.80. If you wanted to, you can pass outside the second tube but to me, that's harder.

Ok. For stepping stones, ~13, possibly ~12, you have to start out with a fast start (hear that, it's not a special fast start), bounce on the first gem, on the stone right in front of you, then bounce on the second gem, that'sforward 1 more then up and to the right, then bounce with backwards momentum, bounce on the third gem, which is back 2 if you're still facing forward, skim the gem there, then roll off and land on the gem there (which is still back 1 if you are still facing the finish, then, finally, bounce forward and land on the super jump, bounce (there's a lot of bouncing in here isn't there?) and activate it, then land and bounce, yet again, on the gem, then bounce (one more time) on the super jump and activate it, you should get high enough in the air to finish right there!!

1) Start with a Special Fast Start using W+A after rotating the camera 55 degrees clockwise.
2) Get on the lower moving platform.
3) Squeeze between platforms at about 8.5 seconds at about 45%-50%.
4) Move very quickly to the right so you are out of the way of any harm.
5) Start going forwards at a very fast pace.
6) Land on the finish in record time.

You need to know this for great divide revisited.1) Start with a Special Fast Start using W+A after rotating the camera 55 degrees clockwise.
2) Get on the lower moving platform.
3) Squeeze between platforms at about 8.5 seconds at about 45%-50%.
4) Move very quickly to the right so you are out of the way of any harm.

6) Land on the finish in record time.

After you get the super bounce, go to the left and try to get the gem. activate super bounce to be able to get to the tallest gem. Then complete the level normally. =)

On Icarus i found a little shortcut. After you get the super bounce, go to the left and try to get the gem. activate super bounce to be able to get to the tallest gem. Then complete the level normally. =)

First, right away, you need to rotate the camera clockwise so when you bob up and down, it looks like there's a gem in the powerup box. Then you need to rock diagonally (W+D) forwards once, then backwards (S+A) once, then forwards (W+D) once more, then bounce right on the side of the part where the gem is. You should nick the gem and head straight for the time travel.
Quickly shift it to W+A and BOUNCE on the slanted part and head for the 2nd gem, which is to the side. You should then start to be pulled to the tornado, don't be afraid, go with it, while grabbing the lower of the 2 time travels (the higher one needs to be saved for later). You should be right next to a gem. Grab it, then quickly go back, and be sucked into the tornado USING ONLY W. Bounce off the start pad, and be thrown lightly into the 4th gem. Quickly go left (if you were facing the gem) and hit the 3rd time travel.
Here's the tricky part, you have to go down and get the gem, but not too fast, because you have to come up 1 more level then roll onto the lower platform, but higher than the tornado, and get the gem.
Right away (or even before you get the gem), jump (or jump into the gem) onto the second highest part, then jump again. You should be at the time travel height, so jump into the time travel and onto the next platform (kinda like a gap).
Here is the hardest part in this World Record Pathway. It is the part that determines if you will have a good run. It it the reason i do not have ~5 seconds right now!!!!! You need to jump at such a height and pace that you jump on the tiny bit of a platform, and stay on, get the time travel while you're there, if you get this on the first try, it will seal your time until the part with the skipping platforms then the finish. So after you get this time travel, move fast, very fast, jump as many times as it takes, then get to the skipping platforms, be careful on these, as i have lost a life here many times (not ones faster than the 7.250 run, but lives none the less). If you do this very fast, then you should finish with ease.

Start out normally. Before the first blocker, go to the right so near to the end but not quite off it. Speed down, and there should be a small blocker with a pole sticking straight up out of it, (a banner). Jump, and if timing is right, you should hit the blocker on its left edge, and fly through the air. Then, make sure you land on the second platform with all of the mines. Finish the level as normally.

44 Dive. I have a pathway that could probably be shortened down, and though so far it can get down to 19 seconds, that's still a start. It's also good for getting gold.Start out normally.
