License Question

(e) Licensee may not release Products intended for operation on Game Console Systems including the Microsoft XBox, Sony Playstation 2, Nintendo GameCube, or their successors without first obtaining a separate Torque Shader Engine Console License from GarageGames.
My question is how much is the Torque Shader Engine Console License from GarageGames. I'm writing a business plan for my game, so does anyone know.

It's more like $75,000 Hokuto. There is a thread where this is all layed out by GG employee, will try to find it and post link here...

In general, you'll need publisher backing if you're releasing for console, and I think GG can help you with this for porting to Microsoft's Live platform. It's not a huge deal of money for a publisher, as they're not having to put much in for actual dev time then. It would take a lot more money for the distribution if it's going to be a boxed product (though all next gen platforms seem to poised to have some manner of on-line delivery methods).

Ok, here's the official answer:Quote:This was taken from this thread.
"The Torque Development Platform provides the perfect opportunity for any developer to get their games in front of a massive console gaming audience. The cost effective licensing for XBLA titles is $10,000 per title while TSE Xbox360 is in beta and $25,000 per title once it is out of beta (projected for summer 2006). For full retail Xbox360 titles, licensing costs are $25,000 during beta and $75,000 upon completion. This retail title price includes admission for two to the TSE Xbox Boot Camp and a one-month introductory support contract."

Quote:That is a way big priceActually, it is way cheap in comparison to most console deals for engines with "box" deals. Have you priced toolsets like snsys's? Just because GG has worked handshake deals on the 360 doesn't mean that you can make a game for a couple of hundred dollars for the price of engine admission. Console licensing and development is expensive business. It's nice to see five figures instead of six.

Maurice, I think TSE 360 Live is $10,000 (Eearly Adopter) or $25,000 (Finished engine) but these numbers are only to give you a rough idea, I'm sure some GG employee will reply soon with some more exact numbers.
I dont' think prices for Full Xbox 360 (no just live arcade) have been announced, I remember a $25,000 mentioned by someone from GG on one of these forums. (do a search) but I think it may be more$$ now because the 360 Live Arcade will be $25,000 so the full on license for a 360 version could be more.
Not sure if they do special deals if you need a multiplatform license (360/PS2/PS3/Cube/Rev)
Probably I should not have replyed at all as I don' t work for GG...
