Troll Concept

I sketched this out the other night when my kids and I were watching the Black Cauldron (for the millionth time, funny how your kids will kill your favorite classics heh). Nothing fancy, just a Troll sitting, waiting for something to do. :-)

I like it, looks a bit docile at the moment, reminds me of the animated Hobit movie. You definately have talent.

Like it. An Eldar Troll. He doesnt look that tough.

Still.. wouldnt want to get on the bad side.

Thanks. Yeah, you're right, Phil. At the time I was picturing an old commander type resting by the fire. Sorry it's not a gruesome battleclad monstrosity, I'll work on one of those later. :-)

On the style, it's kind of a mix of my style and inspiration I pulled from memories. I have a grandmother who's Norwegian and her house is adorned in items she brought over with her. Mostly the paintings, sketches and statues of trolls, witches, etc. captured my attention as a kid. I tried to fashion it after the style in those pieces of art. Still remember the painting at the end of the hallway that terrified my brothers and I ... a witch on a lonely farmroad wandering with her head under her arm. Heh Screw pixie dust, terror is much more fun. :-D But anyway, I'll do more fierce warrior oriented sketches when I get a chance.

Actually, i think its norway that has a connection between a troll and santa claus. I work with quite a few norwegians so Ive seen that style of guy before.

Its probably good having a sort of older troll/orc that can sweeten up the orc camp a bit.
