soryr if i'm annoying you guys.. I just want to make sure i have this correct.

From what i got from these posts and the web site is that the script editor can actully make the game with scripting (rules, how you move, etc...). So basically we would only need one license because since we really shouldn't need the source code if the scritp editor does that! So basically i can give the other members of my development team a copy of the mission editor, script editor, etc.. just not the source code or my password to the web site correct? I just need ot make sure of this before i buy it cause we do want to do this game legally.

BTW does this have a 3d modeler or what kind do we need?

You are correct. You only need a license for the person accessing the source, compiling the exe, etc. If other members of the team are only writing scripts, using the mission editor etc., then they do not need licenses. The only 3D modeler currently supported is 3D Studio Max 3.1 but we will be working hard with developers to provide other options. The first will probably be MilkShape.

What file format does 3d studio max use .3ds right? If so milkshape can export to this already.

Yeah, but if the MAX exporter is in the form of a plugin then you would still need MAX to convert the file wouldn't you?

Of course with the source code it shouldn't be too hard to change it to a file converter but I'm just guessing here. Maybe thats why they're going for Milkshape next, because its easy :)

There must be quite a few apps that export in MAX format so I think a file converter is a good idea.

I'll add importers for most model formats into V12 over a few weeks, mainly halflife, quake 1 2 and 3, vampire NOD, NOLF, and any others I can get info on.

No point having an engine and no test data :)

LOL vmapire NOD models. all i have to say damn ify ou pull that off because it's not that they are hard, but they have like 2k polygons (that's what activision said I think) and the vampire game can only handle like 5 people on screen at once without it slowing down. But hell it might work.

Strange, because the NOD format includes descreet LOD support.

Anyway, thier format is pretty well specified, once I get the code for V12 characters it shouldnt be too much work to convert.
