Any consideration of using gmax tools?

Discreet is designing a cool new gmax tools system for game developers. I don't know if their licensing structure is at all compatible with the GG V12 licensing structure.... They seem to want to license the development SDK for gmax to developers on a 'per title' basis, which seems like there would be some contradiction to the GG idea.
Have you GG dudes considered the gmax dev idea at all?

We talked to the Discreet guys at CGDC about supporting the GG community with GMax. It isn't going to happen at this time. Crank up the Milkshape exporters!!
As far as we could tell, GMax is not much cheaper than using 3DS unless you have a HUGE project. It starts to be attractive at around $95,000 of investment in 3DS!
Break out the open source:)
