Beat way to start?

So I'm very new to this and would like to know some of your opinions on how to best start.
Should I start by getting my basics in C++?
Or would a better start be to skip the C++ for now and get the book "3D Game Programming All in One" from Amazon and start in on the tools already made to get some "design" started?
I'm capable of 3d-modeling etc... But am really foreign to the torque engine and how to best make use of its capabilities etc...
Thanks for any opinions you can offer.
Peace

I think the best way to start is with those books, I own both of them and it helped me get started. I got frustraited whe I start because I couldnt find any documentation of the console commands but thats in the back of the book aswell. Start with scripting thats what the books are about as of yet there are no books about engine coding :( , even with the new ones coming out probably a liscence thing. Hope that helped.

Grabbed the "3D game programming all in one" book - seems to be a good place to start - once I'm through this I will spend more time focussing on C++...
Just also found that there is now a Torque specific book that will be in stores soon too...
Thanks again.
