Is it me, or is this just getting out of hand?

From what i have heard from some one who worked for an microsoft funded studio

Seemingly microsoft are fairly okay as big brother companies go.. i.e they are fairly loose with the creative control and dont generally mess with studio structures..

thats not to say they wouldnt exert there veto when it counts .. dropping a conflicting game project etc
the story i heard ended with them dropping all funding for that particular studio

this is all 2nd hand info though..

Well, its not like any of the Lionhead games are truely memorable as amazing games.

Fable is a horribly misleading game. Your actions have very little effect in the game world. And the fact you can be evil all the way to the very end, and still get the good ending is just stupid.
Black & White is a nice idea but a horrible game.
The Movies I haven't touched because frankly nothing else they've done was worth the money.

I'm just waiting for the news about GG buying Microsoft...

Shhhhh! Your not supposed to talk about that.

GG doesn't own Microsoft. Everyone go about your business. Nothing to see here.

Fable was a great game so long as you ignore the hype that built up around it. For me it was one of the most enjoyable games of that year, and came out in the quiet months in the middle of the year. If you didn't jump in expecting to grow trees, get a sun tan and cut your own hair it was a VERY enjoyable experience.

Industry forum. And NO it's not getting out of hand. With layoffs at EA. Microsoft jobs are not too shabby.

They are trying to build talent just like everyone else.

I meant out of hand as in, uhh ohh here comes the next Hollywood industry!

It's not getting any easier for Independant game studios, that's for shit sure.

That's a surprise. Molyneux left Bullfrog to found Lionhead because he wanted independence from publishers. He was offered lucrative contracts from all over, and turned them down.

All I know about Lionhead is that I'm much more eager to see Dungeon Keeper 3 than Black and White 3.
