Integrated Script Editor

by Dark Tengu · in General Discussion · 04/05/2006 (7:16 pm) · 12 replies

I was wondering if anyone has made an integrated script editor for use inside TGE. I have been using GPGT and really like the script editor that he has implemented into the engine. I think it would be useful to have something that I can use inside the game engine.

TBE does not require java runtime environment...I'm not sure where you got that information.

TBE uses Eclipse. Eclipse is an open source Java-based IDE.

A quote from the Eclipse website:
Quote:
You will need a 1.4.2 level or higher Java runtime or Java development kit (JDK) installed on your machine in order to run Eclipse.

Too many acronyms, and I work here! When I read "TBE", I saw "TGB"...fyi, TBE is no longer supported in any way (it's not needed anymore, since MS made their express version of the compiler free of charge).

Sorry for the confusion and mistake!

Hi all,

Visual studio 2005 express is only free until Nov 2006.
After that, we are forced to buy professional version (around US$1000)
to compile COMMERCIAL program.

From Express FAQ as Microsoft.com

On Comercial use:
Quote:
4. Can I use Express Editions for commercial use?

Yes, there are no licensing restrictions for applications built using the Express Editions.

And on pricing:
Quote:
10. How much will these products cost?

Effective April 19th, 2006, all Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions are free permanently. This pricing covers all Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions including Visual Basic, Visual C#, Visual C++, Visual J#, and Visual Web Developer as well as all localized versions of Visual Studio Express.

Edit to add where the FAQ was from.
edit again to avoid misunderstanding
