Hello friends,
We are working on a new RakeInGrass/300AD "turn-base-strategy" game with working name
Styrateg. It is something between Fantasy General/Homam/Incubation ;) Here is a screnshot:

Mmmmm, love the art. Very nice and clean. And I believe it's scraps of fog of war in the lower left corner, nicely done indeedy. Good luck, guys, your schtuff shows lots of promise.

Thanks! ;)
I hope that we will have the demo or alpha version in two weeks. We have been working on the game only ten weeks and we would like to finish it next one months. But still a lot of work :(

I agree. I like that artwork. It looks very painterly. However, I think you should probably create more versions of those mountains and trees so that they don't repeat so much. Right now, it looks a tad lazy. It looks good, but if you just made more mountains and trees, it'd look great.

Thanks for your messages! We finished a pre-alpha version, we try to test the gameplay and we are not sure if it is good enough. So if anybody wants to test the game, please mail me to team@300ad.com or leave me a message here and I will send you a link for the actual version. We would be very grateful for any comments.

Hello again. We finished beta version of the game and we betatest the game and do translation to English (we need English corrector now, if anybody knows somebody who can help us.. ;) so I hope the game could be finished this week.

Hi, the game is finished. We are testing it now, so I think there could be still several bugs, but you can download and try to play it:

All I can say is wow...most outstanding!

A couple of rough edges, but it brings back some outstanding memories of retro strategy games, and looks quite enjoyable--outstanding work!

Pavel and Crew!

So I was filling my water bladder in the kitchen of the office and noticed about 6 people gathered around Matt's computer. I was like, what the crap is going on?! So I calmly finished filling my bladder so I could be rehydrated and then began talking to someone in the kitchen. Then someone moved so that I could see Matt's monitor after having managed to eavesdrop that it was a TGB game and immediately ran over to the computer pushing people out of my way. This game makes me so happy on the inside :)

My only feedback of any real consequence was the Audio/Video dialog. Your game is so close to complete, but that default video dialog harshed my experience totally! Seriously this is an awesome little game you've created, I spent a good 30 minutes just tinkering instead of working lastnight playing your demo.

edit : The Audio/Video discrepancy I'm referring to is that it does not follow the skinned theme of the game. The initial options dialog does this wonderfully but then the audio/video is skinned like a MacOSX window.

It's such a good feeling when someone hits the point that they've got a game done and ready and are hitting the clean-up point in their development process. Get those rough little edges that Stephen mentioned and I noted above fixed up, some usability feedback processed and you guys are gonna have yourselves a really cool game!

I'll definately shell out the bucks for a copy as soon as it's ready! I really liked the indicators in the game of where your next objective was. I was able to succesfully click through all the text dialogs with the game speed on fast and it was like it wasn't even really a turn-based strategy. I managed to succesfully play this game and have fun in a completely casual manner. Story-Line was of no concern, just kill me some baddies for a few minutes. Really cool how this can double as a casual game so naturally!

Best Regards,
-Justin

Hello,

It is nice to hear that you like our game!

Justin: The problem is, that we have limited resources - manpower (only 2 developers) and developing time - only 3 months (and it is 3 months and 2 weeks now) for all game - so there are several half-baked things. Problem with the Audio/Video dialog is, that I still don't know how to modify movable bars ;) so I had to keep the original dialog graphics from beta 1 version. But I hope I will learn and change it soon. Each day I do several changes in the game.

Nice work guys. Neat and tight graphics, click play is intuitive and well paced. I had fun! That's all that counts right?
