Atleast it wasn't as harsh as the post about DNF.

Duke Nukem Forever

DNF has been in development since at least January 1997. They insist it is still in development and *will* be released. Most people would now be surprised if it shipped before the turn of the century. (Yes, I do mean 2101.) Check out Wikipedia for more details...

The last factoid at the end of the wikipedia entry says that they're already planning the *SEQUEL* to DNF!

Lol, what kind of engine are they using from 1997!

No. One form 1999. They switched to the Unreal 1 Engine (UT '99).

It's not bad - not very good though.

They've supposedly had *several* complete restarts with new engines.

I believe that the longer a game is in development the worse it will be. You hit a critical point where it's time to shoot the beast and move on.

Warcraft 3? Twilight Princess(in all probability)?, Starcraft?

If anyone here reads Computer Games, they would know that DNF is indeed in development. Read the issue with 'Prey' on the cover.

Just because it's in development doesn't mean it will ever be finished.

They've announced that game more times than I care to remember. It looked good back in '99. Now, I just don't care. DN3D wasn't very good to begin with, aside from the interactive environments and the sophomoric toilet humour (that was my favorite part)

Heres how I see DNF:
Okay, Look at Prey. Now picture a photo-realistic Ducke Nukem replacing the native american guy.
Now replace the spaceship with Manhattan. You have Duke Nukem Forever! They could very easily release a new duke nukem game before the end of the year, but they just want to make it good.

Talk about awaking the dead...

Duke Nukem won't be the same without Arnold in it. The Rock is cool, but he's no Duke Nukem.

Or was I thinking of Terminator 4?

I don't know.

Heh. I wasn't even aware they had the chutzpah to try to make a Terminator without Arnie.

Heh, I just realised I said Ducke Nukem... Feathers Everywhere! It was very disturbing, a scene not mortals nor gods could witness without a feeling of deep dread inside them, like acid burning through their sou- No, That's Doom 3...
