Extracting Textures

Hi Everybody,
I am creating a prototype of my game and don't want to create all the textures before I know exactly what I need. Dose anyone know if or how to extract textures from other games. I know there are many different game engines out there and they all store there textures in different files and formats but is there an application or a website that can help me out with this...

Thanks

This is a rather broad question, additionally using someone else's textures without permission is illegal, why don't you query the web for free textures or pick up a book for instance "The Dark Side of Game Texturing" to learn how to make your own.

Thanks guys,

my game is not a commercial game it is a university assignment, I know stealing textures is a bit of a taboo subject but I was just needed some basic textures for a prototype for my first presentation, I ended up just using some plain color textures.

I have a little more time before my next presentation and have started creating my own character textures. Dose anyone know some good resources to help me learn?

Yeah, if you google for "free textures" you'll find literally millions.
