Assertion failed on skin error

Hello, one of our character models wont export correctly. It gives an assertion failed on skin error i know that many things can cause this problem, can anybody check it out and try to tell what we did wrong? Our model is very simpel. If you know you may be helpfull then send me an email and ill send you the .max file ( max 7 )

Btw with our character(im also on Veni-Studios) is it important that u collapse a UVunwrap modifier before exporting the character??

As long as the skin modifier is at the very top of the stack it shouldn't matter what you have below it, no.

Ok, thanks for your help Magnus, Ive got the model exported. (It was a editable poly)

A small trick I use sometimes when I really don't feel like turning my model into an editable mesh is to just simply add a "mesh select" modifier just before the skin. Seems to do the trick and I can still move back down the stack to the editable poly. (sure, you can just convert back and forth between mesh and poly, but it's easy to forget to do it before exporting).
