File structure and T2D vs. TGB?

by Laralyn McWilliams · in Torque Game Builder · 03/14/2006 (1:45 pm) · 2 replies

I looked through the forum and didn't see a post on this, so sorry if it's a repeat!

When I downloaded the 1.1 version of the SDK, it looks like it still uses the TD2 names and file structures. But when I go through some of the newer tutorials, they talk about TGB and the "latest" folder, and other changes.

I know the product has changed its name, but will that change and the folder structure be in the next release?

If you're a newbie, are you better off waiting for the next release, or trying to mimic that file structure? How difficult will a conversion be when the next version comes out?

Thanks for any info you can pass along!

The current beta 1.1 v1.1 (I know, it's confusing) uses the new structure. I guess there might be some more changes to come in the future, but I think a lot of these things (file structure, file formats, naming conventions) are now more or less settled.

Most of the changes to come are centered heavily around the Level Builder, lots and lots and lots of functionality added to that :)
