DTS convert?

by Matt McCracken · in Torque Game Builder · 03/06/2006 (4:55 pm) · 3 replies

Can anyone point me to where I can download a converter/importer to make DTS files? I have very simple meshes that I need to change from .c or .3ds to .dts, but I can't seem to find a converter. I don't actually have 3d studio max so I'll need a standalone converter if possible.

Thanks.

You will need to learn a modeling program here is a list of supported programs

I use anim8or, which is why I need the standalone converter. I don't want to do anything all that advanced, I'm just trying to create 3d models of letters so I can rotate them dynamically instead of having to create frames of animated letters.

I downloaded something that creates a .map from a .3ds, but I don't know where to go from there. The .map2dif program seems to only be available to TGE owners, and alas, I only have the t2d license.

I'll have to agree with Anthony. If you need some 3d letters, get a 3d program. MilkShape, Blender-(with the proper scripts) can import .3ds and export dts. This would also allow you to tweak your meshes to meet your needs.

Edit- If I remember right, someone was working on a dts exporter for anim8or. Do a quick search.
