Can't edit terrain when "Tile" is false (BUG!?)

by Robin Degen · in Torque Game Engine · 03/06/2006 (1:23 pm) · 9 replies

I was about to insert the non-tiling terrain resource into 1.4 again, when i noticed it was allready implanted. Only the bool was renamed to mTile... I found it in the mission editor to. Anyway... it all works (as far as the terrain stopping repeating goes), but when it's on i can't edit the terrain! I cant smooth, i cant add dirt.. do nothing! When i set tile to true i can edit it, and when i set it to false i cant anymore.

I've been looking in the source and there doesn't seem to be any if blocking this... so is this a bug or what? I really need to edit the terrain with Tile = false (to see where the edges of the terrain are).

Help me please!
Thanks in advance

Hmm allright. The old resource of it did have the possibility, but now that it's stock in torque 1.4.. it doesn't work anymore. I really need this fixed... Anybody know something?

Cant you just uncheck and check as needed?

you need to edit terrain.... Tile..you dont...dont Tile.

And i think if you need a refrance to where you terrain ends..hit F4 (area editor) the only area that is shown there is the notilling one...checked or not.

If i press f4, it'll just keep repeating the whole terrain. And yes, i need to see where the edges are so i can surround it with mountains or whatever. Maybe i could make use of the mission area block as reference.. But i'd rather have it fixed then using something like this, thanks for the idea though

Ok it's a bug.. because sometimes i CAN edit it, and sometimes i can't..

Only i can't find out what i did differently that makes editing possible sometimes.

Well after hours of searching, this thread is the closest I can come to. I am pretty sure I saw a fix to this issue, but can't find it, anyone got a pointer?
