I have never once heard anythign about this. That is just not MS style anyway. They are all about killing competition like a standard business.

I remember killing a couple of topics about that which also included account suicides and porn postings on Gamespot and GameFAQs. It seemed to stem from the console wars and next-gen boards as well as a couple of IGN and GameSpy users. And it wsn't this last E3 (unless it reared its head again), but about two ago when the GC was seeing faltering support in the US and the XBox was getting no play in Japan. Of course, the solution for both was to combine into the XCube and storm the market. ith porn and account suicides on moderated forum.

Reliable sources, of course.

This was just a dumb rumor that started from something that J Allard said in passing in an interview. Just that he'd be interested in buying them out. He was kind of joking, being semi-serious and taking a pot shot at them all at the same time. Of course, numerous internet communities immediately blew the comment out of proportion.

No, Sony Online Entertainment are collaberating with Pizza Hut. Ever wondered what typing '/pizza' into the chat window did in EQII?

Microsoft and Nintendo combining? Unlikely... Microsoft buying Nintendo out? Hm.. who knows? But I doubt it.

Highly doubtful... why would Nintendo sell to Microsoft, when Nintendo is in an extremely comfortable financial position? Also, highly doubtful that they would sell out to a foreign company... especially one with such a diametrically opposed approach to the gaming market.

The start of the rumor had to do with teh components being used.
Both MS and Nintendo announced roughly the same time that ATI was providing the graphical muscle and IBM providing the cpu muscle for their respective consoles. So people thought that maybe they had decided to produce a console together and kick Sony's ass.

Seems like IBM is the real winner of the next console generation, with everyone using their processors.
