Decals degrading at distance.

by Torbjorn Leksell · in Torque Game Engine · 02/21/2006 (5:35 pm) · 4 replies

I've implemented some bullet hole decals into TGE 1.4 and it works nice, except the fact that at a certain distance they start looking real funky, the all turn kind of yellow at the same point.

Normal:

Just a little further:

Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

Is there no one who had this problem? The textures degrade at a certain distance and even in some angles. Turning grey/yellow looking. I cant seem to figure out how to adjust this distance :/

Lighting could have somthing to do with this. But without knowing how you applyed the decals, and other infromation about your MOd, its hard to help, only guess.

Maybe it is mipmapping?

Well, going by the blue color of the screenshot, it looks like he has eather the TLK or just set the sun to a dark blue...

I got money on lighting =)

Reasion i say that ,and not mipmapping, is the textures in the second shot are bigger than the first and more detailed, unless its backwords, dont know, cant realy see.
