Can you make games with Flash?

My buddies and I are starting trying to put together a sam and max mystery puzzle solving type game and i was wondering inf flash would work for that or should we somethign else and all if we did you flash if any of youse guys might have a couple of pointers or tips they would be greatly appreciated thanks

Flash is very versatile for creating 2d based games.

ActionScript lets you do pretty much anything you want (within reason) and is fully object-oriented.

The gorillaz game is actually shockwave which is not flash but the internet name for Macromedia Director application. It also supports 3d

But yes you can make games in flash http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/ is a very nice example, it is mostly small games but they are a lot of fun

I (and a friend of mine) made 3 lil games with flash for a school project once.... a 2d space shooter, a snakes clone, and a bowling game. So its possible, but don't expect to make something stunning with it. Its just good enough for making games to place on your website to entertain the visitor or something like that.
