Hello everyone at Torque,
I am used to working with Dark Basic Pro - I've been doing it for 4 years but am generally not great at it. Some of my work can be seen at Drewsgames.com or below;
I'm basically looking into Torque as an option for multi-platform development - does anybody want to share their experiences of updating from Basic to Torque? I've been told it's a noob idea, but I would love to give it a shot.

Sorry for the noobish question, thanks for your time and hello.

Okay, thankyou - It's mainly the code I'm worried about but I can also see that Torque gives alot more, power shall we say, to the art side of things.Great shots, models and character art by the way!

Like you Drew, I looked at Dark Basic a few years ago. I was so disappointed with it, that I sold my copy of it. i ddin't write any code with it because the demos ran so slow on my machine at the time.
Just last year, I've picked up Blitz3d and began programming my first (hopefully to be my breakout hit) 3D game 'Asian Pounder: BEM Hunter'.
Next Monday, I'll have enough spare cash on hands to !fianlly! purchase Torque, and began learning the ins and outs of that system. My first game for thwe system will be 'Demon Chess' probably to be released in 2008.
@Lowry,
Terrific screenshots. It sure proves that you don't need to spend $10,000 on an Unreal engine!

You get out what you put in with DB.
I didn't just look at Dark Basic though I've been using it for 4 years and have made a couple of commercial games in it; so it can work if you want it to: it's really the multi-platform nature of Torque that I'm interested in. I have a pet hate for Blitz to be honest, it's not my cup-of-tea.
Anyway, I look foward to learning Torque with you!

Well, Dark Basic Pro is certainly pretty apt, but yeah the original DB wasn't much cope.You get out what you put in with DB.

If I can dig up our old screenshots from the Dark basic version you can compare them, at least graphically, to these shots on Garage Games' product: Terra: Formations (On TSE) or Terra on TGE
May take a while to find the old Dark Basic shots...:P
Actually...thinking back. I think we may have used 3D State, but just tinkered with Dark Basic :P Nonetheless, the same idea applys. TGE just feels much more polished. :)
Edit: Found the old Terra shot :P First Terra Screen
