Content Pack feedback on requirements

by Andy Hawkins · in General Discussion · 01/31/2006 (9:19 pm) · 1 replies

I've noticed a lot of packs are very stylised, so if two companies were to use the same content pack their style would be the same. For example Tim Astes' work and the Dungeon pack.

Are people after more generic real-world looking content so that the developers can stylise it themselves or is the style not an issue?

This has been one of my main concerns from the beginning of starting my own content pack projects. That is why I chose to work mostly on general and flexible items based on photographs of real-world objects. What I have found personally is that the texture is the thing that most affects the distinctive look and feel of the artwork. The structure of an item based on something real can easily be pretty much non-descriptive.

I even had trouble knowing for certain if a model was mine that was featured in a screenshot here on GG last week.
