Demo for T2D coming?

Before anything else, let's clarify that i am very interested in T2D. Cross platform, a huge community, physics and particles built in... Who wouldn't be? Currently, there are two things keeping me from buying T2D. One minor and one a bit bigger.
The smaller one is the fact that there is no books for T2D, and no one in the works, as far as i know. Though the excellent community weighs up that (Though a book would be very nice, as that is my preferred way of learning...).
The second one is the fact that there is no demo for T2D. Is there one coming, or are there no plans of creating one? An answer would be very appreciated.

I am sorry if i was unclear ;) What i meant was demos of the engine, where you can edit things, like the TGE demo.

Also, there may be no books yet, but there is ALOT of information on TDN.

Ah I see, well from what I understand there can't be one like that right now since the source and the scripts are tied too closely together. I think that I remember reading that once the integration with 1.4 was done this wouldn't be the case anymore, but don't qoute me on that as I may have only dreamed that I read that.

Also a book forces people to write out the code themself rather than copy - paste.
I cant see a book being made until T2D is out of alpha, at the moment, things are being added and changed.
However, the lack of a book isnt noticed as much because of the brilliant community and resources.

I'd love a book too, i'm just a sucker for having a bookcase full of computer books :-( I also find it easier having a book infront of me and reading, rather than switching between script and websites. Also a book forces people to write out the code themself rather than copy - paste.

The difficulty with a T2D book lies not with writing an unwieldy text, but in terms of the licensing. Same goes for an engine demo--which would make the script-only solution (sans source license) not commercially viable to GG. One who wanted to create a book would have to work extremely closely with GG to acquire permission for any T2D script objects that were included; as they should anyway for quality's sake. But it stretches an already small team much further in simply okaying what can be included without invalidating the licensing scheme.

One that terminates after 5 minutes of running, after X lines of script are run, etc.

I was thinking about this problem actually, and it might be advantagous for GG to release a 'lite' version of t2d for demo purposes. One that terminates after 5 minutes of running, after X lines of script are run, etc.

A demonstration version is something that will happen. It's on the list but getting the current product ready completely overrides this and lots of other work. It will happen, it has to happen. :)- Melv.

Of course it then only could be available through GG (could be done with printing on demand).
Could also come without the licence, if only licencees would be able to purchase it.
Of course, that would be technically possible. I don't think anyone would be willing to write a book for such a small target audience.

Wouldn't it be a possibility to create a book that includes the licence? Yes, it would be priced quite high then but then you didn't have the problem. Existing licencees should be able to get a rebate then.Of course it then only could be available through GG (could be done with printing on demand).
