Atlas Texture Not Rendered at Great Distances

I took the terrain_water_demo, put in my own terrain & texture and upped the visible and fog distances to 7000 and 1000 respectively. It looks nice for a good ways, but if I zoom too far away, the texture isn't rendered at all, and it just turns black instead. Is this a bug, or am I somehow generating my TQT wrong?
