Sideways terrain and upside down terrain..

I'm new to the terrain editor.. It seems I can only change terrain that is below me aka parallel to the xy axis.. However what if I want to make sideways mountains or upside down mountains? Perhaps a floating continent? I have NOOOO idea how to do this.. Is it possible?

Not with the TGE terrain--it is heightmap based. You could of course create .dts shapes that look like caves/mountains, etc. and place them on top of the heightmap terrain.

TSE terrain (Atlas) does allow for arbitrary alignment of terrain blocks (as well as multiple terrain blocks), and when the terrain editor is finished you'll be able to accomplish all you wish, and more.
