Virus me think

Not really about game development, but its effecting my progress!
For some reason whenever i click on an icon on my desktop it brings up the property window instead of opening the file or program??? and now my programs menu closes as soon as it opens. Anyone know what might be going on? Ive tried numerous virus, adware, spyware removers etc and my system is apparently clean.
Thanks
Danny

Mine always clears up by right clicking on the desktop and then left clicking. Seems that windows gets confused sometimes. Don't know what causes it though.

Yeh a dialog box comes up, it's confused the hell outta me thats for sure! It does the same if i try and open it with the enter key instead of double clicking as well.

Restart your computer and see if it persists.

Does it pull up an actual window/dialog box, or does it just pull up a popup panel? If it's the latter, then it sounds like a left-handed prankster got hold of your system. If it's the former, then, um, weird. Anyway, it doesn't sound like typical virus behaviour. It sounds more like a tweaked windows preference that you don't really prefer.
