TDN "log in" broken

Hi GG,
TDN seems to be broken. Clicking the log-in link on TDN just takes you to a blank page and you can't access any content.

Sometimes, you take two steps back; in order to take one step forward in the future.

It's completely broken for me (using Safari on a Mac).Sometimes, you take two steps back; in order to take one step forward in the future.

Give it a bit and try again. Happens periodically.
On one hand, I commend GG for creating such a powerful resource for the community, I've allready begun to rely on it regularly.
On the other hand, I frequently have to remind myself, when access is difficult, that it is still in beta. (C; It'll be well worth it though, once everything gets worked out. =)

Way to get around for now is to go to recent changes first, then press the login button. It worked for me.

Thanks, Frogger. Your solution, though odd, certainly works!

Definitely take these conversations to the TDN forums... most login problems are time related and will go away if you just wait a minute. Make sure that's a clock minute, and not a "clicking rapidly" minute. ;) The login stuff runs on a 5 minute cycle currently, so if you try once a minute for five minutes and it's not letting you in then let me know. And make sure you time it. ;)

I've been running into the same problem. I deleted my cookies and was able to login.

Is there a way of moving threads to another forum?

Still not working today, so did as David R suggested and the login is working again. Some problem with cookies obviously. Is there a way of moving threads to another forum?

No way to move threads, but you could start a new thread in the TDN forums. :)

@Dave & David - are you sure that deleting your cookies didn't take long enough to let the auth stuff stop being broken? Like I said - it's on a 5 minute cycle and when it's broken, is typically broken for a few minutes out of that cycle. If it takes you 1 minute to blast your cookies then it would be long enough to move you back into working time.No way to move threads, but you could start a new thread in the TDN forums. :)

Sorry, I wasn't scientific enough. I tired to log in, couldn't, used a few bad words, deleted the cookies and tried again. It worked straight away. I suppose it *is* possible that the 5 minute thingy happened just as I deleted the cookies, but statistically that's not as likely as it *not* happening I guess. Anyway, the login is working fine for me today. If I get locked out again I'll try waiting 5 mins and let you know what happens.
