TGE Education

There are plenty of schools out there that teach you how to make games and what-not. I was wondering what is GG doing to get TGE more in the school system? Like are you guys in talks with different places to get your software in as the tool of choice for creating games?

Yes! We are absolutely marketing ourselves to schools and universities teaching game design. Please visit out educational page www.garagegames.com/developer/torque/education/ for an overview of why Torque is a great tool for educators and a partial list of schools currently teaching with Torque. You can also read our educational forums to keep up on current issues in game development instruction www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.forum.php?qf=123

As far as "what we are doing to get TGE in more Schools": GG has been attending educational conferences; spreading word of mouth advertising to schools that currently have a game design program; building strategic partnerships with leading game design schools; direct marketing to schools, web advertising on our site; participating in educational research projects; and increasing our presence in the commercial; educational, serious games and simulation industries to help make jobs for students with Torque skills.

Finally, GG now has a dedicated contact person specifically for education. If you have any questions about teaching torque at your school please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

I am in no way ready to teach Torque I am just leanring it myself. One of the reasons why I ask is becuase Austin is such a hotbed and TGE came up in a discussion at a DeVry Conference in Austin. It would be nice to attend just a couple of TGE classes and leave it at that. Just wonderiong. Thanks for the response.
