firstly joseph thanks for your answer , you help me a lot with this sentence "You might try posting on the Ubuntu bugtracker if there is one. I'm guessing that If you create a new .py file and just put "import array" at the top it will error out in the same way"
you are right !
In blender 2.4 , i launch just the command import array in blender python window ( shift + F11 , browse existing choice , add new => import array + alt/p) and I get the same errors => conclusion : BLENDER 2.4 is not compatible with ubuntu or with my installation of ubuntu ...
I install blender 2.3.7a ( provided with ubuntu ... ) and IT WORKS PERFECTLY !!!!!
Some times : I would like to be able to kick my ass ....
The positive aspect : I learn a lot of things ....
again thanks !
my torque linux installation works now perfectly : blender, quark, jedit (still one issue but not blocking).
:)

I am seeing a problem when I create a player in the prone position for swimming. I am rotating the dummy bone and moving it down so the player is at ground level. When I export the animation as a dsq, the player is shifted in either the x or y direction from its center.
I have used the Claude project to verify that it was not just my player project and I get the same thing. One thing I did notice is if I only rotate the player and don't move him down, then everything looks fine. I wish I could just use the rotate, but then my player would be swimming in air!

Not sure if this problem is related to the current 2.4 exporter or just my ignorance of Blender.I am seeing a problem when I create a player in the prone position for swimming.
