Web page layout is difficult to find anything

by Demolishun · in Torque Game Engine · 12/16/2005 (7:37 pm) · 12 replies

Your new web page format is hard to navigate and it does not support right clicking to open new tabs. Is there a link to the old pages so I can get around easier? Or maybe an alternate menu that can be right clicked to open in new tabs?

Thanks

I liked the old layout as well, but I guess it is the not use to change thing. I am sure I will grow to like it.

I can't help with the difficulty of navigation, but most browsers will open the menu links in a new window if you hold down the shift key when you click on them with the mouse.

I think the new website's pretty neat once you spend some time to figure it out.

It is fine, just different. Though I found that on some threads I cannot read the rest of the thread or see all the images because fo the fixed width.
For instance this thread is hard to read because of the fixed width (when I first went to it I could not read the rest of it either):

I would ask GG to get rid of the fixed width thing. Even this thread is cropped on the right at least in my browser. If you look at the intent of HTML is was never meant to control how the information is viewed. Your supposed to be able to widen it out if you want.

I have the opposite problem, the screen is surrounded by large blank grey areas. Someone has let a "designer" at the site, big mistake :-)

That is what I am talking about. Big grey areas instead of letting the post area expand past a certain width.

I have the same problem. If there is an image or code block in the post the right hand side of screen is cut short & you can't read to the end. Very annoying. Before a scroll bar would appear at bottom and one could scroll horizontally.

I got different problem- quite often thread gets "under" bottom banner and it can not be scrolled in any way (I guess it's possible it's just not getting in fully. When it comes to gray areas- honestly, I do not mind any layout as long as it works- this one seems to have some glitches at the moment.

I am on Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7, english version.

You mean it cuts of the page too soon? (as in the height of the page isn't quite enough?). Yeah. I'm getting that too, seems to happen pretty much at random, firefox 1.0.7 here too. Maybe it's specific to this version?

Might be, although if you refresh it works fine.

Off topic, but if any of you guys upgrade to Mozilla 1.5 and weird things start happening, it's probably your theme. Upgrade to a 1.5 compatible theme before giving up.
