I'm looking for someone local to los angeles to provide one on one instruction on working with torque, including scripting. i'm happy to pay $50 an hour for experienced help. i really want to get going faster than i can just with the docs!
i am experienced with other languages, so it should not be frustrating to instruct me.
please contact me privately asap if you are local to LA and very good with torque!

Perhaps you should look at attending a Torque Bootcamp?

You will learn some basic stuff and it will save you a lot of money.

I know that this isn't exactly what you was thinking but try "3D Game programming all in one" book. You will learn some basic stuff and it will save you a lot of money.

and don't have experience with 3D and/or game engines,
just using Ken's book will still mean you're looking at at least a month before you've got much traction with torque.
In-person teaching is way better.
I wish i'd had someone with me when i was getting my feet wet.
Bootcamp might be a good way to go if you can't find somebody around LA.

Just wondering if you have a design doc

I have a lot of experience with Blitz (and other languages) so working directly with someone could defn. jump start the process. I have a lot of questions, which generate a lot more questions.
Matt, maybe those videos should be made available?? For a fee of course.

It cost money for video tapes. I will be sending Matt the tapes after I am done editing them for myself.

I wrote to matt, lets see what he says...

I'm happy to pay for tapes. Seems like GarageGames should be selling tapes of each bootcamp! (you see i want garagegames to make a ton of money so they can spend it on developing torque)I wrote to matt, lets see what he says...

I know, I just saw a shot for a little free advertising for my site. Also, it wouldn't be much of a trade since my videos have been freely available for download for a while, hence the :).

I don't owe anyone anything except a the promise I made to Matt. I copied them for my benifit to help me. and I told matt I would send him a copy. It cost money to buy video tapes and I wont buy video tapes for the world.

I don't understand why everyone everything to be free it cost money to make them. I'm not saying Matt won't make them free or not but it is up to him.
Torque Owner Ryan Scott
i'm happy to fly someone to teach me - preferably west coast, but i'll take whatever.
any experienced torquer with some downtime who wants to earn a few bucks teaching me torque, and get a free trip to LA?
