What happens if a Resource is Rejected?

by Steven Peterson · in General Discussion · 12/02/2005 (10:13 am) · 11 replies

If you submit a plan, resource, or "Dev.-SnapShot of the Day", and it gets rejeceted, will GG let you know, or give you a reason why? Or is not seeing it posted supposed to be the hint?

My new plan and snap-shot are probably just caught up in a post-thanksgiving back-log, but It got me wondering.

We don't approve .plans (despite what the post-submit page says). They go up as soon as you post them. If yours didn't show up then it probably got eaten by the digital wilds.

... Good to know. I've been hitting refresh since 3am on the Dec. 1st. lol. Luckily I saved it to desktop "just-in-case".

What about the others?

Thanks :-)

They are printed onto velium, (transcribed by interns) and then burned as part of a clensing ritual we do every week in order to stave off the tiny squirrel demons who steal our wireless controlers in the dark hours of the morning.

I submitted a resource "Setting up CVS server on Win XP". I sent it in three times and it never got posted nor a word from GG...I just figured it got rejected waay before it even had a chance of getting printed onto velium. Oh well...

We didn't know what to do about it, at first, but then we just started setting things on fire and it seems to have helped.

ROFLOL -

So thats how I get rid of the squirrle-deamons! That was going to be my next question! ;-)

@Eric - Thanx for the valient effort, I actually went looking for such a resource and couldn't find one at one point.

Actually, we sometimes get behind in our approval process. Josh approves all resources, and he is in Florida for ITSEC conference. Benjamin approves IOTD. I saw your IOTD, and it will go up.

We have no way of notifying people that their resoruces or IOTD's are rejected. We want to make this process more interactive. Rick and I are planning another pass on the recources to make them even better.

Always something to do:)

Is the plan for all resources to go into TDN at some point? Or will both err all 3 info systems stay up as is (Forum, Resource, TDN).

All three stay up. TDN is the place to write articles that TIE all of the others together. It is still very important to have a database of resources.
