Acceptable use of the MGT IRC server

You may NOT use our server for a commercial game unless you work out a licensing agreement with Max Gaming Technologies, LLC, in ADVANCE.

We pay for this, it costs money, others cannot and will not profit from it without permission. We have to evaluate the number and quality of servers connected to our network every month, and as our sales wane, we have to cut resources. Using our servers for you game costs us money.

We are happy to support development related activities, lobby testing, etc, if you ask in advance so we can be prepared for odd server or client behavior, and if you have a game and want to use our servers for the lobby, we will be VERY happy to work out a mutually beneficial arrangement.

We provide our servers as a service to the development community, and as supporting infrastructure to our own games. Anything that disrupts either of those activities affects our business.

Please respect that.

Just as a follow-up to what Ed has said. The IRC servers are primarily paid for via the sales of Dark Horizons - Lore Invasion or through the pockets of Max Gaming, as such we hope that everyone who reads this understands why we, Max Gaming Technologies, have to put up a notice like this (especially in light of recent incidents with a particular game).

For those of you who are curious, if you would like to help support the IRC server that is provided to the GarageGames community these past five years, you can do so through the purchase of Dark Horizons - Lore Invasion. Thanks.

LOL when you press F1 the "Torque racing demo credits" pop up. Yea I just heard about this thing. So they are sending chat traffic
to your IRC? hahah how funny. Let's hope for some kind of quick resolution. They also modded the Garagegames logo. I guess they got permission to do that? (was a forum topic or 3 about it recently).

Well, regardless, I wanted to make it clear what our position on this sort of thing was, in case someone else got the same idea.

The server join messages have been amended to make this clear as well.

This is still the case though, don't assume you can use a server simply because you can connect to it.
