Where's MBU on X360?
by Andrew Stahl · in Marble Blast · 11/29/2005 (7:06 am) · 39 replies
I bought a X360 on launch day, and it's great. One thing that's missing is MBU from the XBL360 arcade among some other XBL360 games. I heard a lot of talk that this would be a launch title. Anyways, I'd just like to know the status of the game? Is MS holding you guys up or something. Thanks for any responces.

Yes, MBU isn't an XBox360 launch title...but it's coming very soon!

Very soon. As far as what held us up, it was a variety of things. I am in strong favor of the team doing a post-mortem for the GarageGames site. I think that if we are trying to lead by example, we should lay it out so everyone can see good decisions we make during development, and bad decisions. To hold you over...have some shiny things:

Will you ever port Marble Blast Ultra for Windows and MacOS? I would buy it immediately if so.

X-mas has come and gone, on Microsoft's site it still says December '05 for a release date and I fear that with the year coming to a close this dream won't come true. I've got PGR3, PDZ & soon DOA4 but I can tell you right now that MBU will be "THE" live game I get the most play time out of and I'm really getting anxious to play.
In fact one of the other forum members of xbox.com has even created a Yahoo group to keep us all in touch (along with the XBOX Live friends list of course).
Anyway, all I would like to know is whether or not there has been any more information regarding the release date for MBU or if we can get a "window" that it may fall in?
Thank you for your time.

I don't mean to press on this topic, but there is a large following on xbox.com Forums that seems to be growing larger by the day. I had noticed something on the net that made a comment about "Marble Blast Ultra will be available for X-mas."X-mas has come and gone, on Microsoft's site it still says December '05 for a release date and I fear that with the year coming to a close this dream won't come true. The entire Marble Blast Ultra team, including myself, will be very relieved to see our game available for download. Please accept, and convey, my apologies to the group of fans who are waiting for MBU. You won't be dissapointed.

I know what it's like to be in Marble Blast Limbo, believe me. I anxiously check my e-mail inbox every morning because I know that one of these mornings I will see that the game went up on Live Arcade. I wish I could provide you with something more solid, but all I know is "very, very soon". I, too, was hoping I would see that e-mail before Christmas, but that wasn't the case. The entire Marble Blast Ultra team, including myself, will be very relieved to see our game available for download. Quote:MBU only requires Live Silver to download and play. You will be able to keep track of your times on the leaderboards and have your achievements posted and everything. The advantage to Gold over Silver, however, is that you will be able to play multiplayer *any time*. Silver memberships do not get to do multiplayer all the time, I think that they are able to play on weekends only, or maybe it is just certain weekends, I am not positive so don't quote me on that.

Now if we could just get a few actual (non-dev) consoles so we can play the game when it comes out!

We're still awaiting word from the Certification team -- hoping for MBU to be out before New Years :)Now if we could just get a few actual (non-dev) consoles so we can play the game when it comes out!

Thank you very much for your time. Just glad to hear this from you guys instead of the rumor mill. The certification process can be grueling for a developer I hear.Anyway, thanks again and I'll be back to give my thanks and congratulations when this one goes "live". ;-) Pun intended!

There has been a minor snag, as it turns out. Still, we expect MBU to be out shortly.

Took me a while to find this thread. I just assumed the game was released. At least I know I'm not crazy... first thing I did when I plugged it in for the first time was look for MBU =) Wish I had read the thread *before* going through every single menu on my 360 though! Hehe. Best of luck on release guys!

I don't know, honestly. It is not a major problem at all. We hope to be back in to certification very soon.
