OpenGL quirk

Excited to try the new release of 1.4, I didn't bother to wait to get home to try it out. I have noticed a quirk with using OpenGL on this system.

If I open any mission and use D3D as the renderer, I have no problems. If I run a mission using OpenGL, the screen doesn't clear itself, and you get everlasting mouse trails.

I am able to get OpenGL to work however, but only if I run the mission using D3D, exit out to the new main UI screen, and then set the renderer to OpenGL. It has no problems this way. *scratches head*

The graphics card is integrated and is labled as: Intel 82865G. I'm unable to update drivers, or play with things, as it's a work computer. I just came across this today and wanted to make it known.

Hmm. That's pretty crazy!

I'm inclined to believe driver problem, this problem was with a stock build?

Crazy indeed!
Yup, stock. It was downloaded and ran from a temporary directory a few minutes later - unaltered.

It happens consistantly, and yes, it's probably a driver problem, these computers aren't really setup with graphics as a priority. I only wanted to use OpenGL because I can make the window smaller, and hide it easier. :]

If you can identify a fix, I'd be happy to review it for inclusion in trunk... Otherwise, since we don't have that part lying around, there's not much we can do on our end for you. :)

Thanks for following up!

Well onboard graphic card is usualy only for application work as you stated allready. Maybe you can try to increase VGA memory or AGP aperture size, or increase memory sharing in BIOS...sometimes it helps a little bit but frankly I personally think that it will be a waste of time :)
