Some said to post it in the Synapse Gaming Lighting Pack Private Forums for a better response on how to integrate it.

The banner says Torque Illuminated, Torque Game Engine 1.4 now with integrated Lighting Kit. $100.
Also see a free upgrade on the banner, so hope thats what I think it is for us.

Yes good question.. Considering I have forked out for TGE and the Lighting Pack already, I sure hope we get access to this without having to fork out another $100.The banner says Torque Illuminated, Torque Game Engine 1.4 now with integrated Lighting Kit. $100.
Also see a free upgrade on the banner, so hope thats what I think it is for us.

So, yes. It is in the works. Yes. It will be free. Yes. It was posted on this same forum, two threads down from this one. And he is also strongly dedicated to the TLK community because rather than releasing a new demo first to show off TLK, he also stated:

Since no one read the More Information link I provided, I'll quote it here:Quote:The Torque Lighting Kit is still a separate product (previously known as the Lighting Pack).

We (Synapse Gaming and GarageGames) worked very closely on this release making the Torque Lighting Kit easier than ever to use and customize, and rolling fixes available in TLK into TGE.
All of the awesome lighting tools and technology are still unique to the Torque Lighting Kit - if you don't have it yet what are you waiting for? :)

Also TLK is now featured heavily in the TGE demos - so check them out. :)

Obviously there is a TLK 1.4 release in the works (free update, for those wondering). As you can imagine working on the TGE 1.4 release bit a little into TLK related development time, but it was a huge benefit to TGE, TLK, and the whole GG community, so it was well worth it.
Regarding time frame; "when it's done", and "it currently isn't". ;)
Anyway tomorrow is a major holiday around here, so I'll be out of the office for a few days - have a great weekend.

Please understand that I did read your link, it talks about the Torque Lighting Kit for 1.4 as being a free upgrade and seperate. That I fully understand and appreciate.
Now I don't know if YOU have seen it, but GarageGames is running a banner advertising a NEW 1.4 with Integrated Lighting Kit. To me and a few others I expect, it looks like the TLK and TGE 1.4 are now being combined into one product.
So my question was with what we considered two items in the past are now infact being combined as one, will we have to upgrade to Torque Illuminated at an additional cost to get the latest and greatest.
Maybe GG has changed it's mind since John made that post, or maybe they are just trying to get more money by adding another product to their list ( If so, hope John get's his share).

From the product page:
I can see how the banner is misleading, though, since it seems to indicate a complete integration into the new codebase.

They are not being combined as a single product currently. From the product page:
Quote:Torque 1.4 also has received an illumination boost with many changes to allow easier integration with the new Torque Lighting Kit.

TLK is still a separate product, and David is correct that marketing blurb is based on the tighter integration between the two products, but obviously when shortened the message is a little misleading.
Btw: thanks for pointing this out I didn't see the ad until Simon mentioned it.
I emailed the guys to let them know the ad is causing a little confusion, though it's somewhat correct - a lot of bug fixes and simple code changes trickled down to TGE, which makes integration a lot easier for TLK users (but that doesn't fit on the banner :).

The Synapse Gaming Torque Lighting Kit rocks and we are behind it 100%. We made it easier than ever to integrate in Torque 1.4, as we think *everyone* should pick up the TLK and use it in their games.
But yes, the TLK is a separate product (and it's a great one!). I will try to get the banner fixed so it's less confusing.

I can understand the confusion here too, and thanks you guys for pointing it out. The banner text is a little confusing, and as John sugests, we just didn't have room to say what we actually wanted to say.
