No one can post how much it is... iirc, you have to sign an NDA before GG will talk about pricing with you.

@KC 0045, if you read the EULA it is in there, it talks about console dev kits.

We are still working out the pricing. I do know it will be $10,000 for Live titles. We are considering an Indie pricing structure that would allow you to buy a version of TSE for $1,000, then pay the remainder when you ship the game or get a deal.

You do not need an XB360 to develop your game. TSE360, a hot video card, and controller will get your game to the state that could be approved by Microsoft, sold to a publisher, or otherwise allow you to get a development kit.

Just to bolster what Jeff said about not needing a 360 dev kit...we use the PC build of Marble Blast Ultra for development quite a bit. You can even play PC vs Xbox360, which we do for every playtest since we don't have dev kits for everyone in the office (obviously). All our GUI work is done on a PC using a PC build...you can pretty much do 70% of what you need to do with TSE360 on a PC, and the other 30% you don't need to worry about until your idea is solid (Live! stuff, etc)

As a follow up question - are there plans to support other consoles as they come to market or is GG xbox-exclusive?

PC Build of Marble Blast Ultra!? I just fell out of my chair, but it's okay, because I'm going to hyperventilate now. I don't suppose that you'd consider selling it to us? What kind of PCs do you run it on? What kinds of video cards do they have? Does your deal with M... prevent you from distributing a PC version? If the possibility of GarageGames distributing a PC version does not exist...could you please run me over with a truck or something?

@Chris--please don't read too much into that statement--not because I know something that I can't talk about or anything, but because I don't know! I saw it mentioned by Mark or Jay somewhere in one of the news feeds we've generated, and basically repeated it.

No one should read into that anything at all regarding future possibilities, good or bad!

As far as I am aware, Torque as a brand is not encumbered regarding platforms--there is a company (Transgaming) that is working on the PS2 platform layer with us, and while I've not heard anything about other platforms, there isn't any reason I am aware of currently that restricts us from porting Torque.

@Jeff, Will there be a TSE for PS3 later on in the future? Or just only Xbox 360?

That's probably an answer still in negotiations. The common answer would be: "it would be totally cool to be on PS3 and have that as an offering", but the official answer probably has to be "no comment" right now.

It would take a lot more effort to get TSE running on the PS compared to the XBOX.

@Westy that is true, but I prefer the PS3

Right now I prefer the PS2 because it has more games out that I play (and own). I can't even speculate which next gen system I'll enjoy most. Right now it would have to be the 360 since it is the only one out and PDZ rocks. Still not enough for me to buy one yet...but still...at least I have friends who will stand out in the freezing weather to let me play their new toy!

How can you prefer a system that isn't out and you've never played ?

@Chris, well I have an Xbox and PS2 and I like my PS2 more than my Xbox. Also, I do't really like the Xbox 360 it's nice and all but I won't get one till a while.

@Bejong,

The PS3 is supposed to run ps2 software too.
So you could always use that route if ps3 support doesn't happen.

The PS3 is'nt even out yet so how can you make an opinion on something you have'nt even seen or played yet. it might play the Ps2 games it might not they could change thier minds at any time, because thier not obligated to anything.
