I didn't get one because I am saving for a new pc. But will get one next year.
Just curious about any waiting in line stories or feedback on the unit.

I'll be waiting for the PS3. I can only afford one console and as a PC gamer with nice graphics cards (Radeon 9800XT and a Geforce 6600GT) I can satisfy any XBox gaming urge with an equivalent PC game. Sony on the otherhand always comes out with some unique must-have titles with game experiences not common to PC games.

Oh, and you can't get the best of the 360 games on a PC ... Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing 3, and Geometry Wars ... well ok the games I think are the best ;P

The 360 is a very tight gaming experience ... best console in a long time (probably ever) ... no doubt because of it's interface and auto Xbox Live features. Every game uses Xbox Live and there are leaderboards and achievments which add a lot to each game which are nice bonuses. If Sony and Nintendo don't have tight interfaces like the 360 does and they act like old school consoles of the past then the experience won't be as smooth and tight ... it'll be hard to go back to an older console after playing games on this puppy.Oh, and you can't get the best of the 360 games on a PC ... My only real issue is that often times the 'interface' elements from the dashboard(xbox live signin indicator, achievement unlock indicator) don't really fit with the game your playing and kind of detract from the experience a bit(minor thing, really).
BTW, the CREATOR of the Final Fantasy series is making two games for the 360, so hopefully we'll have some nice Japanese style RPG's for the system.

Hehe, Geometry Wars rocks :) Something SOO simple yet incredibly fun. Best 5 bucks I've spent on a game in a long time.My only real issue is that often times the 'interface' elements from the dashboard(xbox live signin indicator, achievement unlock indicator) don't really fit with the game your playing and kind of detract from the experience a bit(minor thing, really).

Hideo Kojima (Designer for Metal Gear games) said the Xbox 360 would have no problem doing Metal Gear: Solid 4. I don't know if that *means* anything...but that could mean good things.

Ya I heard about that. Metal Gear will be ported, it always is. And honestly, thats the only game that interest me on Playstation...so I wont be getting a PS3 unless they have yet to uncover something extremely cool about it, but I doubt that.

I also heard on ebay someone bought a 360 for 5 grand. If it's that serious then just pre-order...rich, lazy, idiot.

If your a true gamer, you'll eventually own all current major consoles, an up to date PC, and at least one handheld anyway. But I've learned my lesson from the Dreamcast and PS2 about getting consoles at launch. Always wait at least 6 months to a year so that the companies can work out the kinks in their systems before you purchase their prototype. Laser lens (PS2: read disk error) and overheating issues mostly, or hardware rehauls (Xbox: Duke replaced with Controller S). Any new technology, even a new brand of car, is good to wait a year or two. I hear myself talking but I may have to break my own rule once the 360's start flowing regularly. Even though there's nothing I want to play on it just yet, I want one. But I'm trying to stay strong. Besides, there are still about 15 games currently out for the Xbox, PS2, and Cube that I need to get around to. Blake I'm gonna stop by your house in about an hour to check out your 360 and eat all your Doritos ;pI also heard on ebay someone bought a 360 for 5 grand. Geometry Wars and Perfect Dark are the best gaming experiences I've had in a long time. I'm actually wearing the rubber off my analog sticks from Geometry Wars because I play it so hard and so much ... I've never done that it's insane.

Surprised no one has mentioned Gears of War, but since its not out yes thats probably why. I guess when I finally see with my own two eyes a game powered by the unreal 3 engine in action at the store, i dont know if I will be able to hold back purchasing a console (oh my wife would be annoyed)!!!- john
