REAL AAA Artwork for Independent Developers!

Asorson Studios is a computer graphics company founded by veteran game artists specializing in remote contract services to the video game industry. We support independent developers with discounted rates and more! Don't fall for fly-by-nighters or spring chickens. We've been providing contract services to the video game industry fulltime since 2002 and worked individually in the game biz for more than a decade. Many of our clients are first time developers, indie developers, casual game developers, and entrepreneurs.

You know, there is a help wanted section around here somewhere. Generally, these kinds of posts are frowned apon

This stuff looks great. Have you worked on any indie titles?

Thanks Andy. Yes, several. Some recent indy titles include Phosphor, a web-based first person shooter game from Rasterwerks. Gang War, an action RTS from Radioactive-Software. Oceanica a 2d platformer from Sean Dumas. ChatWorld and Pow Pow's Great Adventure from Outside the Box Software. Cyborg and Goose Chase from Gilzu Games.

Charlie: Are you sure I'm in the wrong section? It said offer your services and I see a lot of other posts like mine. If I'm in the wrong place I apologize.

Wow! This forum is really active. I'll need to hang out here more often. Over the past couple of years I've begun to shift my focus from big corporate gigs to working with more independant developers like yourselves. I enjoy it thoroughly and, since I believe that small developers are the real future of the game industry, I consider my time spent on these projects to be a sound investment. I offer discounted rates to qualifying indie developers, sometimes in excess of 60%. That being said, my rates are not rock-bottom by any means. Even discounted they can be a challenge for some privately funded projects to afford, but I can assure you that the return on your investment in terms of quality work and the impression you will make with your game is well worth the expense, and the job will be handled with the highest level of professionalism and reliable service. Your willingness to make a cash investment in your game tells me that you are serious about the project and that it's one worth being associated with. You invest in me, I invest in you, and we both benefit. A vast majority of my clients have become repeat customers several times over during the past couple of years and that is what motivates me. When you guys hit the big time I hope that you will come back to me for your art needs.

I've noticed that there is a "looking for work" section in this forum as well. I don't want to spam the place, but at the same time I don't know what the traffic is like between the two sections and I'd like to reach as many people as possible. Would it be out of line to offer my services in that section as well?

Erik,

Have people in your tool shed had experience with TGE or T2D?

Mark. I am not familiar with the Torque engine yet, but I plan to download the demo soon and check it out. If a project comes up that involves opening/exporting models/animations/etc. into the engine engine I would buy a copy. We've created artwork for dozens of different game engines in the past and, in my experience, from an art perspective, they are all about the same. I am familiar with many of the technical concepts involved in creating real-time 3d artwork. If you give us a set of technical guidelines we can work with them. Most of our clients prefer to do the exportation into the game engine themselves and we just provide 3d files (in 3dsMax or another file format of choice).

I really like your work. Looking at your web site I realize that I might have stumbled upon it in the past. Don't remember where I found the link though.

Would you be able to model and animate creatures? Check out our game on today's Development Snapshot of the Day to get an idea.

Hi Nick,

Yes modeling and animating creatures and characters is our specialty. Please email me if you would like a price quote on a specific body of work.

Erik - To export models to the engine you won't need to purchase a license. All you need is the demo.

To give me an idea of pricing... How much would it cost me (if you hadn't already created it) to get you to draw that last image set there? 2d-07

Hi Chris,

Our pricing fluctuates regularly depending on a number of factors so I don't want to post any prices here which will be soon outdated, but I've emailed you privately.

Thanks,
Erik

If you want to do business with Torque, TSE and T2d developers then it's in your best interest to buy an SDK copy. It's a token of appreciation to GG folks at least. Hey everyone has bills to pay. And let's you into private forums as well as a way to test your product. Products that are package and quality assurance tested with Torque engines will sell best with this community. Only some friendly advice and I think your work looks sweet.

Thats very nice game art. I just have one question. Do you allow to keep the copyright of the artwork to the game developers or are they copyright by your company.
