Greedy Blastards FPS

Greedy Blastards is a slap-stick comedic Multplayer FPS/3PS in which Contestants enter an Arena to compete against one another. The objective is to collect/steal as many coins you can and 'bank' them for points. The only loser is the one who ends the round with 0 coins.
A variety of non-lethal weapons such Spud Launcher, Grease Gun, Glue Gun, Bubble Blaster, Freeze Ray, the Zapper will be at the players disposal. The weapons will temporarily stun players causing them to fumble some or all collected coins.
Contestants can submit a real-world mugshot of themselves in which we generate comedic representation of their head and attach it to a body in-game.
Exaggerated Movement/Gestures/Facial Expressions and a Witty Announcer is supposed to make the game funny to watch and hear verses its simple run-of-the-mill FPS gameplay.

Agree that cartoony, cel-shaded graphics would make this a winner and would suit your idea for exagerated animations.
The mugshot idea good for internet play, it'll add a level of technical headaches above and beyond a console game and might not add to the fun. I reckon people prefer to choose a character anyway.. Some funny looking comic style Over the top characters would be cool... Fonzie type guy, Elvis type guy, Fat bloke, skinny bloke, Old Grannie, Grungie Teenager... etc..
Release it for Christmas and you've got a party hit on your hands.
Be careful though, the could make or break the mood for this game...

Great idea. Simple and original like all the best ones!! How does the round end? is it on a timer? I don't think that players will often finish the round with 0 points, they would usually have at least a couple I think.Good luck, I look forward to watching this one progress.

As for characters, I did have a set of exaggerated heads based on famous fictional & non-fictional greedy beings, such as: the god father, mad scientist, stripped burgular, galactor, king midas, g.w.bush, martha_steward, and adolf_h, the bandit.

The round is up when the last coin is 'banked'. Sounds like a pretty good idea. if you want to go for sure-fire humor, put in cutesy characters and cartoony graphics with alot of cursing and foul language. now thats good wholesome fun!

This might introduce tactics like stall all of the other players until the timer runs out, collect the big coin on the next level and real the rewards... of course this means that everyone else will be after the big coin too..

How about any coins not collected before the timer runs out are collected by the game arena and maybe offered as random bonus coin somewhere on the next level, so you get the chance to collect all of the coins all at once if you get the super coin.. This might introduce tactics like stall all of the other players until the timer runs out, collect the big coin on the next level and real the rewards... of course this means that everyone else will be after the big coin too..

It's a good concept. Maybe add a bonus stat, shield or function to each coin.

Did anyone ever play the old bullfrog racing game, Hioctane!? In that game you were hover crafts, but when you destroyed an enemy they spewed open and ALL their fuel, upgrades ( how ever many levels of missile, Minniegun and speed) and shield came spewing everywhere in little diamonds! Quite allot of fun trying to collect your enemies stuff while racing at the same time.... this is similar.. and i always loved that part of the game. may give you some ideas.

Any ideas on what sorta environments would be suitable. Coins spawn in random locations; Banks are are Static. No real theme defined as of yet.
