If TGE is the solution for cross platform development, can I count on support for the next-gen consoles will being included?

We already have XBox 360 support. PS3 support will probably also happen eventually; right now it's a little tricky as very very few people in North America have dev kits, and we don't have a launch title set up with Sony. ;)

I saw on the garagegame site that I can develop some XBOX 360 game with my TGE.
But it also said that it require a separate user license for it...
So my question is... can I develop XBOX 360 game with my TGE.. and how do I convert my game so that it can run opn a XBOX 360...

Thank's

To use TGEA 360, you will need an official Microsoft license and DevKit. Then you can purchase the 360 license and begin the porting process. If you are serious about 360 development on the professional level, I would recommend using TGEA and making your title as solid as possible while working with Microsoft and paying the licensing fees, signing NDA's, etc.

You could also go the XNA/TorqueX route and keep an eye to the commercial future for the Creator's Club.

The purpose of all that for me is purely academic. I am a computer science teacher and I am building a new course on game development. Just want to teach to my student the process of game bulding ...and why not on a XBOX. My student are final year student. The academic program is a 3 years programmer programm.

Then TorqueX and XNA would be your best bet. You can teach them C#, the XNA framework, and let them compile and play on the 360.

It also wouldn't be a bad idea to contact Davey Jackson, as he's the man to talk to when it comes to Torque in education.

Yes Torque X was a opion for me, but because of the 2D nature of Torque X my mind was on TGE or TGEA. Any idea were I can get that official Microsoft license and DevKit for xbox 360. Looking on the msdn site and the xbox360 official site and do not see enyhing about that famous license.

Thank's for your help

Just to clarify, Torque X is not strictly 2D, we just haven't completed the 3D side of Torque X yet. Check out this video from just over 6 months ago.
